How the Shadow Wings Aircraft Hub Works

The Shadow Wings Aircraft Hub is designed to make buying and selling an airplane simpler, more personal, and less stressful.

Shadow Wings Aviation does not own the aircraft listed on the Hub. Instead, we work as an independent third party to help connect serious buyers with sellers and guide the buyer through the process—from the first conversation all the way through bringing the airplane home.

For Aircraft Sellers

Listing your aircraft with the Shadow Wings Aircraft Hub costs nothing upfront.

We can advertise your aircraft through the Hub and our social media channels while you continue to own, operate, and control the airplane. You are not paying Shadow Wings simply to put an advertisement online.

If someone expresses interest, we may contact you to verify availability or gather additional information. But an interested person is not necessarily a qualified buyer.

Before we consider a buyer ready to move forward, Shadow Wings works with them to establish that:

  • The aircraft fits their intended mission and experience.
  • They have the financial ability or financing path to purchase it.
  • They are able to obtain appropriate insurance and understand any required training or checkout.
  • They are prepared to proceed with the purchase process.

No Shadow Wings sales fee is collected just because your aircraft is listed or because someone asks about it.

Once we have a qualified buyer who is prepared to move forward, we contact you and begin coordinating the actual transaction.

The goal is simple: we don’t want to waste the seller’s time with buyers who aren’t ready to buy.

For Aircraft Buyers

If you find an aircraft on the Shadow Wings Aircraft Hub that interests you, you aren’t simply responding to another classified ad.

Shadow Wings Aviation helps you through the buying process.

1. Make Sure the Airplane Fits

We’ll start by talking about what you want to do with the airplane, your flying experience, your budget, passengers, typical trips, training needs, and other considerations.

Selling the airplane isn’t helpful if it isn’t the right airplane for you.

2. Work Through Insurance and Financing

Before spending money traveling or inspecting an airplane, we’ll help point you toward aviation insurance resources so you can determine whether the airplane is insurable for you and what training your insurance company may require.

If financing is needed, we can also connect you with aircraft financing resources.

Shadow Wings does not provide the insurance or financing—we help connect you with the professionals who do.

3. Arrange an Independent Pre-Buy

Once you’re ready to proceed, we’ll work with the seller and help locate a qualified mechanic or shop near the aircraft to perform an independent pre-purchase inspection.

The buyer pays the cost of the pre-buy inspection, and the findings belong to the buyer.

Our role is to help coordinate the process and help you understand what needs to happen next.

4. Complete the Purchase

If the pre-buy is satisfactory and the agreed purchase terms are met, the buyer and seller complete the transaction.

Shadow Wings does not handle or take custody of the aircraft purchase money. We help coordinate the process while the appropriate parties—buyer, seller, lender, title or escrow company, insurance company, and others—handle their respective parts of the transaction.

5. Fly Your New Airplane Home

This is where the Shadow Wings Aircraft Hub is different from a typical aircraft listing.

After the purchase is complete, Shadow Wings can accompany the new owner on the flight home.

Whenever practical, we use that trip to complete the buyer’s required insurance checkout or transition training while also accomplishing the ferry flight.

For qualifying Hub purchases, this service includes up to:

10 hours of flight time and 3 days of travel.

The aircraft owner is responsible for aircraft operating expenses such as fuel and oil and for their own lodging. Shadow Wings covers its own meals and lodging during the included portion of the trip.

If additional time is required beyond the included limits, arrangements can be made for additional services.

The Goal

For the seller, the goal is to bring you a buyer who has already taken the important steps toward being financially and insurably capable of purchasing your airplane.

For the buyer, the goal is to provide someone in your corner throughout the process.

From:

“I think I want this airplane.”

to:

“This airplane is mine, I’m checked out in it, and we just flew it home.”

That’s what the Shadow Wings Aircraft Hub is designed to do.
